In Nigeria, 100% of the residents believe that there is office politics occurs in their country. This shows that office politics is an issue that happens in every country no matter in a big organization or a small workplace. Office politics brings negative effects towards an organisation. There would not be productive if an organisation exist politics. There are a few reasons why office politics occurs which are:
- personal conflicts
- competitive working environment
- to climb up the corporate ladder
- lack of trust
- gossip
