Reduced employee morale
- Some offices encourages jealousy, hypocrisy and cliques among employees as they think that it
will motivate the employees and increase the efficiency of work, in fact it
will only create more problems is an organization. In an organization, when
everyone only concerns in their own goal, works individually, hate each of
their colleague, these situation will only lead the daily transaction of the
organization go inefficient because the superior will spend most of his/her
time settling office conflicts and having no time to do their proper job.
- Apart from this, the person who initiates office
politics usually is the head of office. They allowed bribe or bootlicker to
consolidate their power in the office and get benefits. Anger, hatred, jealousy
and other negative emotion will be created by the actions of the event
initiator.

- Furthermore, office politics involve in every
part of the office, if a worker wants to get the controlling power of the
office, he will think various way to attack others in order to reach their
goal. In this situation, the worker’s behaviour is immoral. Negative office
politics lead the workers to low levels of morale, hatred, abuse, fight will
eventually cause increased costs, absenteeism, strikes, lack of motivation,
decreased efficiency.

- “When the use of power or office politics becomes
destructive it is often because there is no common ground or shared goals,”
Fear told Management Issues. Office politics change the attitude of employees.
Before the office conflict occur, employees are indeed having a mind of being
helpful to the company and provide their boss more ideas for the purpose of
gaining more profit and making more money. When the circumstances go wrong, everyone
is playing the role of office politics and secretly planning guile to harm each
other, eventually, employees will lose interest in work and attend office just
for sake of it.
- Office politics also show that the more tricks employees play
the more wrong information they get. It is because employees are indulged in
politics manipulate information and it never passed on in its desired form.
Most of the time, superior gets wrong information of what is actually happening
in the company and it cause a wrong person to resign from their work and
indulge the office politics go to the more harmful side.

- There is
someone saying that office politics are ‘ugly’, employees sometimes respond in
unexpected manners when they face a threatening experience or some situations
may block their way to get the advantage. Forming a group against it sounds not
right, but it is the most common way to withstand the office politics. In fact,
it is not a wise solution instead it will make more tension in the office. The
ugly of office politics contain distrust, dishonesty and greed. By allowing
aggression, negativity and harmful factors into office politics, fairness and
welcomes are often considered as fake expression.
